Welcome

You are very welcome to Trunk Calls & I hope you find something of interest to you!

This is a forum for sharing information and pictures about some family history research into the following branches -

Hallworth ____________________________________________ Cox

Tuthill ________________________________________________ Bolton

For the newbies ;-) wherever you see text of a different colour like that, click on it & it should take you on somewhere of interest. Then you can use the Back button (top left on your screen??) and return.

If images seem too small, simply click on them & generally they will appear separately, but as a much larger image. Then again, use your browser's Back button to return to your place in TrunkCalls. See directions within the left-hand column if you would like to get in touch & correct me or share your family history. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see on this site. If you don't want to connect your comment to any one particular posting, then comment to this Welcoming post. Better yet, try out the new...

As I write each new message, they do not appear in date order - so this post is always the front page. Have you returned (Thankyou!!) and want to catch up with what's new? Look at the 'While you were out' section on the left-hand column. If you only want to read about one specific family branch, you can get the posts in order (oldest to newest) by clicking on the surname - again, over there on the left-hand column. To return to the full TrunkCalls blog, click on the title header, right up at the very top.

If you can't find something - it's daft to just keep on scrolling. Blogger have provided a handy service for you - use the Search Blog box in the top left corner (the blue header) to type in any word you wish for. If it's in the blog somewhere, that's how you'll find it (provided I spellt it coorrektley??)

I don't want this site to be about me, but just so you know who's talking to you (if you arrived via a search engine, for example) - I have put a useful photo of myself here. A child of the 70's, as you see! I am Lisa & I live in Wales, UK. Croeso!

Acknowledgements...

There is a large amount of the information/stories here which wouldn't be here if it hadn't been
for the help and research of others, who have shared freely.
Although it is almost impossible to list everyone here, I do try! Apologies now to anyone I've missed out.

Why so much Hallworth material compared to the others?  Well, it's not a bias, there are two very good reasons for that. Firstly, the name is not that rare, unless you live in Cheshire/Lancashire.  Secondly, the archives services in Bedfordshire is so brilliant, and there is lots of material held there relevant to the Hallworth ancestry. And thirdly, they've been pretty easy to find.  (Oops, that was 3 reasons.)

Location, Location, Location: view my Google Map to try & get a handle on where the folks lived over the years. This map has details of Cox/Garrett family in Northamptonshire, and also Hallworth family in Bedfordshire.
As new material is added regularly, you may also find it useful to add a bookmark on your PC:

Have your say - but it may take a while before it appears. Sorry - I need to do this, because I took out the security steps to make it all easier and allow anonymity...but now I need to moderate!! Cheers, Lisa
